Group Support

What is the benefit of group support?

I believe strongly in the power of a positive community in eating disorder recovery. Connections and healthy friendships can be an immense benefit to the recovery process.

This is an offering for in person (depending on demand) and virtual support groups for anyone, anywhere in the world. If you are between the ages of 13-22 (some exceptions are made) this is a safe place to show up with others going through a similar life experience where you can process different aspects of life as you navigate your eating disorder, with the supervision and leadership by me.

Topics during group include but are not limited to:

  • Incorporating balanced exercise in recovery and beyond

  • Body image

  • Social media

  • Relationships

  • Life skills (such as school, applying for college, communication skills, stress relief, etc)

  • Holiday prep (thanksgiving, Christmas, etc)

  • Obstacles in recovery

  • Relapse prevention

  • Thought work

  • Intuitive eating

“Shelbye's ED support group is a safe space for me to talk about my struggles with those who are going through the same thing. It's a great environment full of positivity. The ability to both share my experiences and listen to others has helped me so much.”

- P.H. (16 years old)
